Robust and flexible technology for a profitable method
Landfill decommissioning usually pursues several goals at the same time. It is worthwhile above all from an ecological point of view, for the remediation of soil and groundwater. The main reason is the reclamation of the land reclaimed by the deconstruction. Material and energetic utilization of different valuable fractions each contribute to the economic efficiency.
The process consists of a spiral shaft separator(Splitter UNIT) to classify the removed tailings. Fine and coarse fractions are each freed from iron by magnets. A second screen cut is made in the fines of the splitter with a trommel screen to produce a medium fraction between 50 and 150mm, which can be separated by density in the air classifier. The light fraction of the air classifier can then be utilized for energy. The separated metals are recycled. Lime is added to the trommel screen in the mixer and reinstalled.
This process relates primarily to municipal waste landfills. The processing of slag and tailings is not considered further here.
