Efficient, modern, sustainable: Richi AG relies on a new waste wood processing plant from ALLRECO
ALLRECO GmbH has once again demonstrated its expertisein mastering complex technological, structural, and logistical challenges. Forthe long-established Richi AG from Weiningen (Switzerland), the companymodernized the existing waste wood processing plant – all while operationscontinued and under a strict deadline. The result: a future-proof facility thatmeets all requirements for efficiency, product quality, and sustainability.
Disposal, supply,and renewable energy
Richi AG is not onlya leading provider of building materials and construction services in theregion but also a key player in the fields of recycling and renewable energy.Since 2005, the company has operated its own biomass power plant, generatingaround 15,000 MWh of green electricity and approximately 20,000 MWh of districtheating annually. By modernizing its waste wood processing plant, Richi AG aimsto further optimize its CO2-neutral energy production.
A challengingmodernization during ongoing operations
In December 2022,Richi AG commissioned ALLRECO GmbH for the comprehensive modernization of itsfacility. “Our old system could no longer meet today’s demands for metal separation and non-ferrous metal sorting. Additionally, we wanted a system that was easier to control and aimed to reduce our overall costs. Our decision to award the project to ALLRECO was based on their technological capabilities—now we can even process railway sleepers with ease—as well as their logistical and construction expertise.”, explains David Richi, a member of themanagement team. Additionally, the project had to be implemented during the maintenance phase of the biomass power plant while the rest of the sorting facility remained operational – a challenge that ALLRECO, under the leadership of Tim Platte, managed with excellence.
Careful planning andprecise execution
Within just fourweeks, the existing facility was dismantled, a new concrete surface wascreated, and the modern system was pre-assembled and installed. The CERON TYPE 306 shredder from ALLRECO and the state-of-the-art Splitter UNIT have since ensuredfirst-class wood chip quality, reduced contaminants, and simplified, efficientcontrol of the biomass power plant.
One year later:Enthusiasm at Richi AG
After a year ofoperation, David Richi gives a positive summary: “The collaboration withALLRECO was exemplary. Technological expertise, precise planning, and closecoordination made this project a complete success. Our expectations wereexceeded.” With this successful modernization, Richi AG issetting new standards in recycling and energy production – impressivelydemonstrating how innovative technology supports sustainable goals.
